How to Get Into Quinnipiac Law (2026-2027 Guide)

Quinnipiac's North Haven campus combines a clinical program with Day One mentoring. Its offerings include health law, dispute resolution, and public-facing legal work, with a three-year evening JD providing another study format.

This guide walks you through how to get into Quinnipiac Law.

1. Quinnipiac Law Admissions Numbers and Statistics

Quinnipiac Law Class of 2029:

Quinnipiac Law Class of 2028:

The fall 2026 entering profile raises the LSAT median two points and the GPA median 0.03 from the 2025 entering class. The newer profile publishes medians, not quartiles. These are entering-class figures; the older ABA group includes both day and part-time students.

Aim to be at or above at least one median to be competitive. Above both puts you in a stronger position. Below both medians, this is a prayer, not a reach.

For context on how medians affect your strategy, see How to Build a Smart Law School List.

2. Quinnipiac Law Application Essays

Personal Statement (required)

The school's instructions:

“We are interested in learning more about you as an individual. The personal statement is your opportunity to share with us your unique life experiences, what is important to you and what makes you want to pursue a legal education. A carefully crafted, well-written and concise statement is what we are looking for as we seek to learn more about you and assess your writing ability. This essay should reflect solely your own work and not exceed 750 words.”

For more on how to write a personal statement, see my Personal Statement Examples and Personal Statement Guide.

Distinguished Scholar Perspective Essay (optional)

For Distinguished Scholar consideration, address how your background, experiences, educational environment, and perspective would enrich the community. You can do this in the personal statement or an optional essay. The public award instructions do not set a separate word limit.

For more on how to write a diversity or perspective statement, see my Diversity Statement Examples and Diversity Statement Guide.

For more on making all of these essays work together, see my Cohesive Narrative Guide.

Addenda and Character & Fitness Resources

I'll be publishing a guide to addenda and character and fitness.

3. Quinnipiac Law Resume Requirements

A resume is required. Include education, employment, service, leadership, and other substantial commitments. Make dates and responsibilities easy to follow, and give paid work the same seriousness as campus leadership.

For more on preparing your resume, see my Resume Examples and Resume Guide.

4. Quinnipiac Law Letters of Recommendation

Submit two letters of recommendation, with a maximum of three, through CAS. Professors are especially useful for recent graduates; employers can supply meaningful evidence for applicants with work experience. Choose people who can describe your judgment and performance.

For more on recommendations, see my LOR Guide (Applicants) and LOR Guide (Writers).

5. Quinnipiac Law Interview Process

Dean’s Fellows finalists are invited to interview. Prepare to discuss your scholarly work, leadership, and service with specific examples. A scholarship interview is a separate process from the ordinary application review.

6. Quinnipiac Law Deadlines and Decision Options

Application Dates and Fees

Testing, Fees, and Program Formats

The JD application requires the LSAT and its writing component. The application fee is waived.

Submit when the application is strong, but do not treat the final summer deadline as the best scholarship strategy.

7. Quinnipiac Law Scholarships and Financial Aid

Merit Scholarships

General merit awards are considered through the admission application, with award amounts and renewal terms in the offer. Published merit and Distinguished Scholar awards range from $5,000 to $55,000 annually. Distinguished Scholar awards require the perspective discussion described above and renew with good academic standing.

Named Scholarships

Dean’s Fellows provides full tuition for selected full-time applicants with exceptional scholarship, leadership, and service. Quinnipiac also lists public-interest, first-generation, military, emergency-response, and LGBTQIA+ advocacy scholarships. Follow each award’s eligibility and application requirements; one admission application does not establish eligibility for every named fund.

2026–27 Costs

Full-time tuition is $58,300 for two semesters. Adding the listed fees and standard off-campus living, food, books, transportation, personal, and loan allowances produces an estimated $91,862 annual budget, before any health-insurance adjustment. This is not a tuition-only price. The evening page uses $2,040 per credit as a 2026–27 illustration, not an approved fall 2027 rate.

Compare the renewable three-year cost, not just the first award letter.

For more on scholarship strategy, see How to Negotiate Law School Scholarships.

8. Quinnipiac Law Joint Degree Programs

These combinations, concentrations, and certificates are designed for the full-time day program. Do not assume that the new evening curriculum can accommodate them on the same timetable.

9. Quinnipiac Law Employment Outcomes (Class of 2025)

Quinnipiac Class of 2025 employment outcomes (reported to the ABA, measured 10 months after graduation):

Connecticut is the dominant employment market, with New York and New Jersey the next largest destinations. Large-firm work is a relatively small part of the outcome mix. Build a budget and career plan around the regional practices, courts, and public-serving employers you would actually pursue, not an assumption that proximity to New York produces a New York BigLaw job.

10. Quinnipiac Law Areas of Study and Specializations

Health law: The Health Law concentration and Quinnipiac Health Law Journal offer a defined path into regulation, patient care, and the legal structure of health services. The shared North Haven professional campus makes this especially relevant to applicants bringing clinical or health-policy experience.

Civil advocacy and dispute resolution: The Civil Advocacy and Dispute Resolution concentration connects litigation study with negotiation, mediation, and clinical work. The Center on Dispute Resolution gives the subject an institutional home beyond a single elective or competition team.

Tax: The Tax Law certificate and Tax Clinic connect technical rules with disputes affecting people who cannot easily obtain representation. This is a concrete option for applicants interested in administrative practice, financial systems, or counseling rather than courtroom work alone.

Cybersecurity and information privacy: The Cybersecurity and Information Privacy concentration provides a focused route into the regulation of information and technology. Applicants with technical or compliance experience can explain the legal questions they want to investigate instead of treating technology as a fashionable label.

Other concentrations include Criminal Law and Advocacy, Family Law, Intellectual Property, and Workplace Law.

11. Quinnipiac Law Clinics and Experiential Learning

Students are guaranteed a clinic or externship opportunity, not a particular placement or semester. Published clinical offerings include:

Pro Bono and Experiential Learning

Externships extend into courts, agencies, firms, and nonprofit organizations. The IRS Office of Chief Counsel is one named option in the school’s placement materials. Civil Justice work and public-interest placements also offer concrete ways to serve people with limited access to counsel. Match the placement’s hours and prerequisites to your actual schedule.

12. Quinnipiac Law Notable Faculty and Journals

Faculty

Journals

Their different subject matter gives you choices beyond a general-interest law review.

13. Quinnipiac Law Culture and Student Life

The Day One program builds mentoring into the transition to law school, while Bridge to Practice adds professional skills work. That combination is useful for applicants who want repeated contact with faculty and practicing lawyers rather than waiting until the first summer to think about professional development.

North Haven is a professional-school setting, not an urban downtown law campus. Consider housing and transportation alongside classes, clinics, and student organizations. Evening applicants should also think through summer study and employment: a three-year calendar creates continuity, but it requires a sustained year-round commitment.
