Testimonials

As an over-represented minority with a 2.mid GPA and a 17low LSAT, my aspirations for the T14 were a long shot. I sought out a consultant who could help craft a compelling narrative and accommodate my full-time work schedule with evening and weekend availability. From our first conversation, I knew Moshe was that partner.

Despite being below both medians, I was accepted to Cornell—proof of the power of strategic storytelling that highlighted my ‘soft’ factors and provided crucial context for my GPA.

Initially, I consulted a large consulting company, who informed me I could expect 3-4 rounds of feedback on personal statements, with weekday availability for discussions during standard business hours only. In contrast, Moshe and I had over 40 revisions of my final statement, ranging from complete rewrites to minor word adjustments. He was accessible to me at any time, on any day.

Moshe is a harsh critic, but that was his greatest asset in strengthening my application. He scrutinized every sentence, refining even the slightest wording for improvement. His feedback was blunt, too harsh at times. But it was always backed by a clear rationale. If you’re looking for a consultant to streamline the process and minimize stress, Moshe isn’t the one. His approach demands extensive back-and-forth, requiring time and deep brainstorming. We bickered at times, especially when I resisted his strict frameworks. But I came to understand why his approach works: his scrutiny mirrored the doubts admissions committees would have, ensuring my story, my interest in law, and my strengths were presented in the strongest possible light.

Moshe comes with a ton of knowledge of the admissions process and a network I could tap into for advice. He connected me with former clients—students and alums from my target schools—whom I spoke with directly. Their insights on professors, school culture, and community were a huge help in crafting compelling ‘Why X’ statements.

Lastly, Moshe is deeply committed to his clients. Despite our disagreements, he always had my best interests at heart. For him, this process is personal—he wasn’t going to let me submit anything less than my best. He was gunning for the A as hard as I was.

I highly recommend Moshe. By working with him, you get: 1) flawless statements, 2) around-the-clock access, 3) relentless feedback, and 4) improved writing skills that will serve you well in law school and beyond. Above all, it was worth it to defy the odds and get into my dream law school. Thank you, Moshe!

When looking for a consultant, I wanted somebody who would be as much of a perfectionist as I was, but times ten. I spoke with other consultants, and many of them seemed content with building an application that was “okay”, probably because they had so many other applications to work on. When I met with Moshe, I knew that he was going to make my application the best.

Immediately when we got to work, he was returning my drafts within a day or even a few hours of my sharing it with him. The edits were always very comprehensive, down to the smallest detail. I never had to worry whether my essays were strong enough, because Moshe was worrying for me. Sometimes I gave him a hard time about his edits – both of us can be pretty stubborn – but taking his advice was the best decision I ever made.

I know that I would not have the choices that I have this cycle if not for Moshe. Being the first person in my family to attend law school, I had very little idea of what law schools were looking for, or how to share my story with them. While I had a lot of passion for the field of law I want to go into, I struggled to communicate this passion in my essays. Moshe’s brainstorming process helped me find my authentic narrative, and his sharp editing skills refined the story I wanted to tell.

I am so thankful for everything Moshe did for me. I’ve seen person after person with my stats getting waitlisted or rejected at schools where I was getting accepted, and I can confidently say it is because Moshe is the best at what he does. Because of Moshe, I have the privilege of choosing between Harvard, Penn, NYU, Duke and Berkeley. I have been so spoiled with my results, and have Moshe to thank for it. Set up a consultation call for yourself, and you’ll see that Moshe is one of a kind in the support he provides, and the results he produces!

From the moment I met Moshe four years ago, I knew he was my guy. At that time, I had no idea how the process worked, but with his help, I’ve since learned everything I needed to—and more. Thanks to his guidance, I was admitted to my dream school and several other t-14 law schools, with half of their deans personally congratulating me with a phone call or personal note.

I chose his All-Inclusive Plus package, and I can confidently say Moshe is one of the most brilliant, talented thinkers and writers I’ve ever met. He’s available at any hour and always provides the best advice because he truly cares.

If you’re considering his services, here’s what you should know:

1. He Calls It How He Sees It – Direct and Honest Feedback

Law school admissions can be challenging, and with endless advice pointing in different directions, it’s crucial to have someone who knows the system inside and out. Moshe is that person. He’s blunt and straightforward, and together, we’ve refined over a hundred versions of documents—from personal statements to resumes—into pieces I now often reread in awe. If you’re serious about law school, he’s your go-to expert.

2. He’s There For You Like No Other

Unlike working with a large agency where you might end up with a hit-or-miss consultant, with Moshe, you work directly with the man, the myth, the legend. There were times we’d strategize back and forth at 2 or 3 AM, revising our drawing board to optimize my applications. There was constant brainstorming, research, and rewriting involved. But through everything, he never gave up on me. And he won’t give up on you.

3. Unparalleled Expertise and Experience

Moshe isn’t just a consultant; he’s a law school graduate who understands what it takes to succeed. He provided resources, samples, and extra guidance that were crucial in expressing my story and legal interests with maximum clarity. His philosophy is short yet effective: clear and simple writing leads to better outcomes. He consistently ensured my work met this standard, and I am forever grateful.

Working with Moshe has been an invaluable experience. I have no regrets and believe wholeheartedly that he will help you craft your best narrative and teach you essential skills for law school and beyond. I was fortunate to get to choose between Michigan, Berkeley, and UCLA despite having a GPA below every T14’s median.

Thank you, Moshe, for everything.

After an introductory consultation and a few informational meetings with his previous clients, Moshe and I began working together in early July. Early on, he recommended that I re-take the LSAT (for what would be the fifth time in the span of a few years) as breaching the 170 mark would get my foot in the door for my target schools (at the time, I was looking at the T20). As a reapplicant with a lower GPA (3.81), I knew I needed to bring something new for this cycle, so I accepted the challenge. Over the next few months, I studied for the LSAT, brainstormed with Moshe on the topic for my personal statement, and updated my resumé––all while working full-time. I treated my work with Moshe as a part-time job. He, in turn, treated the process with just as much dedication. I took the September exam and scored where I needed to, so the focus from that point onward was wrapping up all the written materials. This was no easy feat, as we had our hands full with two personal statements (one standard and one more condensed), ten why X statements, two optional essays, and one LSAT addendum (to be tweaked slightly for each school).

I applied to 15 law schools this cycle––up from 11 from the previous cycle. Moshe supported me with 10, seven of which were in the T20. As some other testimonials can speak to, completing all the written components takes time, as there are dozens of drafts before reaching a final version. To illustrate this further, I had about 66 drafts for my personal statement, 41 for my resumé, 26 for my first why X statement, 8 for my LSAT addendum, and a few for my optional essays. That’s close to 150 drafts for all written materials. On top of this, I had informational meetings with at least one current student for each of my why X statements (in total, about 12).

After all the blood, sweat, and tears put into this process between Moshe and me, we achieved what we set out to do: of the 15 schools I applied to, I was directly admitted to eight (three of which in the T15), waitlisted at four (all four in the T15), and withdrew from three (primarily lower than the T20). In short, the numbers speak for themselves and tell you what Moshe can help you achieve given time, patience, and perseverance.

When I first decided that I was going to be applying to law school I was completely overwhelmed and confused about where to even begin. Having used an admissions consultant for college applications, I knew my first step on my law school journey would be finding a consultant to guide me through the process. I thought of the only person I knew from my area that was currently in law school and reached out to her for advice. That’s when I found Moshe.

After my initial call with Moshe, I was feeling a little bit hesitant about using him. For starters, it was a lot of money to be giving someone up front that you had only heard of through word of mouth. Second, I hadn’t even taken my LSAT yet so I didn’t know what type of score I would be receiving, or if it would be worth it to have an admissions consultant with a low score. Nevertheless, Moshe reassured me of all of my concerns. If I got a low score and decided I wanted to take a gap year instead, Moshe was able to defer his services for a year. In regard to pricing, I had a lot of reflection in that department. I ultimately came to the decision that yes you are spending a lot of money now, but if Moshe’s services can help get you into the top law schools in the country, you will be making that money back faster than you remember it leaving your account.

I can say that I’m so glad that I trusted my instincts and worked with Moshe. I started my initial brainstorming process with him around July/August and submitted all my applications in January, so it was a decently long period of time. There were many points along the way where we disagreed on certain things, which caused us both to become frustrated, but Moshe’s constant communication and availability allowed us to talk through issues and come out on the other side with even better work. Working with Moshe is not an easy way out of doing law school applications. You will have to put in a lot of hard work, but Moshe will always match that energy. If you are putting in your best effort, so is he.

By the end of our time working together, we had around 17 versions of my Personal Statement and 15 versions of my Resume. I say this because to me that shows constant improvement which allowed my material to be the best it could possibly be. Moshe’s revisions aren’t just changing words here and there and fixing grammar, they are thoughtful and calculated changes that alter your writing for the better. Even down to the last few days before I submitted my applications, we were still making changes throughout my materials so that they would form a cohesive story that truly reflects me as an individual.

With all of that being said, I genuinely do not think I would be where I am without Moshe’s consulting. I have officially been accepted to the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School through the Early Decision process which is beyond my wildest dreams. While I can accredit this success to the hard work and effort I have put in in the past few years leading up to this moment, I still don’t think it would have happened without Moshe.  I was a reverse splitter at Penn, so getting accepted was far from a guarantee, but now I am excited to say that it is my reality!

Moshe has such incredible knowledge of the entire admissions process that he was really a key point of advice and information for me throughout our months working together. Overall, if you’re looking for an extremely hands-on consultant who will review every last detail of your statements and supplements until they are near perfection, then Moshe is the one for you. Be prepared for some tough love and criticism along the way but know that in the end, the outcome is 100% worth it.

Early on, I knew I wanted to work with an admissions consultant to improve my chances as a reverse splitter and KJD applicant. But it was tough to find qualified consultants, and even tougher to tell them apart. I was ultimately deciding between Sharper Statements and Spivey Consulting.

Previously, I worked with two other admissions consultants who were each predominantly hands-off. One consultant even outsourced editing to an intern! Neither consultant, though, transformed my writing beyond adding commas here or brainstorming there. I underperformed earlier stats, partly because of this irresolution.

Consequently, I sought hands-on engagement for the law school admissions process. Whereas Spivey’s consultant did not offer this impression, Moshe did. I remained apprehensive. But Moshe readily offered over a half-dozen past clients as referrals, each of whom delivered an appeal similar to those on Reddit and on his website. Above all, they highlighted one simple fact; Moshe got results. That was good enough for me, so I decided to stick with Sharper Statements.

First of all, Moshe was clearly knowledgeable about the admissions process and was eager to share it. He knows the basics, sure, but I was impressed by his school-specific recommendations that offered insight into individual admissions offices. Whether I asked a question at 2pm or 2am, I almost always received an answer within an hour; I wonder when he slept. This responsiveness, I believe, is arguably Moshe’s largest differentiator from other admissions consultants.

This manifests during the essay revising process as well, during which Moshe is a rigorous editor who comes with high expectations. Each essay goes through multiple versions, sometimes 50+. Moshe ensures that your end product is solid, whether that takes three exchanges or seventy. Each time, he offers substantive suggestions to improve your paper that go far beyond proofreading. With that said, Moshe doesn’t hold back. If your essay sucks, either in whole or in part, he will let you know! If this directness is appealing and refreshing, then Moshe is for you. But I recognize that this approach could be stressful or offensive to some.

I will also add that Moshe’s essay-writing process is somewhat formulaic. I didn’t take well to this structure, and it took me a while to catch on which frustrated all parties involved. Moshe works best for those who thrive with clear guidelines and parameters.

As an applicant, I didn’t have a secret sauce. As a nURM, KJD applicant with an uninspiring LSAT score, I was uncertain about my prospects at top schools. But, in no small part because of Moshe, I found myself with a pair of awesome acceptances in the top 10, three unexpected waitlists in the top 6, and absolutely no rejections! This time, I overperformed my raw stats.

I highly recommend Moshe to any applicant who needs some tough love en route to a successful admissions outcome. His level of personal engagement with your application is unmatched.

Moshe is literally the best. Going into the process, I knew that hiring an admissions consultant would be a big investment for my future legal career. And when I first spoke to Moshe on our consultation call, I told him that I wanted someone to provide guidance all throughout the confusing, difficult, and stressful process that is applying to law school.

And he did just that from the moment we began working together. I am self-aware enough to know that I wasn’t the easiest of clients. I overthink everything and often catastrophize about the smallest of things, but Moshe was always available to answer my endless list of questions and ease my worries throughout the process. Audio messages on the weekend and texts at 4am were not out of the ordinary as Moshe makes it a point to be very accessible to his clients. In this way, Moshe felt like a good friend with great advice and lots of knowledge about law school applications.

More than that, Moshe is brilliant when it comes to brainstorming and putting together application materials. He was always thinking of new, inventive ideas that left me wondering, how does he do it? I’d spend days fruitlessly attempting to write and re-write a single sentence. Then, within minutes, Moshe would make a couple of suggestions and, suddenly, my whole essay would read so much better. However, what I also really appreciated about working with Moshe is that I never felt as if I lost my voice in the process. He constantly asked about what I thought about this or that, and I never felt uncomfortable about letting him know that a certain edit or idea just didn’t feel or sound like me.

Moshe also helped immensely during the post-application stage, including with interviews, scholarship negotiations, and ultimately choosing my school. My family was also super involved with the entire application process, especially after I received my acceptances, and they were also super impressed by him.

But Moshe, as others have said, is blunt as heck. When I first started working with him, I convinced myself I was a good enough writer that Moshe wouldn’t have anything harsh to say about my writing. I was very wrong. Moshe can be incredibly harsh and sometimes this did hurt my pride a bit, I can’t lie. However, his criticism is never meant to tear you down, but is instead meant to encourage you to try better and dig deeper inside to produce the best draft possible. And for me, his no-BS style worked. While I always hoped for positive feedback on a draft or outline, his criticism also served as a source of motivation to work more thoughtfully and carefully on my next draft. He knew I could do it, but he also realized that I needed a push.

I wholeheartedly recommend Moshe and I am thrilled that, with his support, I will be attending UVA with a nearly full scholarship this fall. And if you don’t want to take my word for it, I’d strongly recommend you set up a consultation call with Moshe just to chat and get to know him and see for yourself how committed, knowledgeable, and awesome he is. Thank you, Moshe!!

When I started looking for an admissions consultant, my top priority was hiring someone who would return good comments on my writing quickly and reliably. I was starting out late, and I needed someone to help me grind out strong applications in a short period of time. After hearing about his reputation for diligence and responsiveness, I decided to hire Moshe—and his services were better than advertised. If you fit with his consulting style, I don’t think there’s a better admissions consultant than Sharper Statements out there.

The dueling-drafts system he uses makes the entire editing process simple, intuitive, and lightning-quick. At one point, we were churning out multiple new drafts every day, each building on a past iteration as the current version got better and better. Whenever I had questions, I could rely on him being available at pretty much any time, including the late hours I was usually writing at. In addition, even though I felt like I was working at a rapid pace, I never, ever felt like I was waiting on Moshe. Our overall speed was limited only by my own schedule and motivation to turn drafts around. It’s not an exaggeration to say that, at times, the attention Moshe gave my apps made me feel like I was his only client.

Together, Moshe and I strived towards perfection. We didn’t accept anything less. As a result, the process was very demanding. Moshe meticulously scrutinized my drafts and made sure to pick out every flaw no matter how small. Taken in tandem with the speed of his revisions and the sharpness with which he relayed his criticism, there were times when I felt frustrated and exhausted. But I’m glad I stuck through it. Thanks to the strength of my written submissions, my outcomes punched far above my stats. Despite my 3.1 GPA, I will be attending UVA Law on a generous scholarship.

Bottom line: if you’re looking for someone who will join you in obsessing over your application and combing through the minutiae to ensure that it’s perfect, Moshe is absolutely your guy. The keys to getting your money’s worth: make sure you can (1) handle tough criticism and (2) dedicate a significant amount of time to your applications.

I worked with Moshe for my personal statement and I am very satisfied with the help he provided. Going into the process, I was unsure about what a successful statement entails. I also felt unsure about my ability to write in such a personal manner, since that was not the type of writing I was accustomed to. Having Moshe’s advice and feedback made the process feel a lot less intimidating.

Moshe started by instructing me to write out my life story, which helped me connect the dots in my life and begin to develop a story of why I want to attend law school. After writing out my life story and developing an outline connecting pivotal moments in my life, the writing process flowed a lot easier.

Reflecting back on this process, I am grateful that I worked with someone who enabled me to view my life from different angles. Though the process was frustrating at times, it was ultimately incredibly rewarding. Moshe’s feedback did more than help me develop a strong personal statement–it helped me grow as a creative writer and storyteller. And I got into my top choice law school.

Moshe is the man. When I first started my journey of applying to Law Schools, I didn’t really know what to expect. With a substandard GPA, and an objectively uninteresting life, I had no clue where to start or even if my T14 dreams were realistic. At my consultation, Moshe immediately began pushing me, encouraging me to take the LSAT one more time to try and maximize my chances. This turned out to be the right call as I was able to raise my score from 169 to 174.

Even with the score bump, I wasn’t too confident in my application. I had never written a personal statement before, and there wasn’t a particular topic that I had in mind going into the process. Moshe’s unique system of brainstorming and drafting ultimately proved to be very effective, as he helped me craft a compelling narrative out of my life story that I never would have been able to create on my own. After countless drafts and Moshe’s tireless help, my personal statement eventually became a bright spot in my application that I was truly excited about.

Moshe has a built a reputation for himself of being a dick. I would agree with this, to an extent. His comments were blunt and harsh, but admittedly never incorrect. That being said, if you’re a person who can work well with straightforward criticism and not take it to heart, I would recommend Moshe in a heartbeat. He helped me get into my dream school and I have no regrets about my law school admissions process.
